Süddeutsche Kunststoff-Zentrum (SKZ), the R&D, testing and training organisation based in Würzburg, Germany, has started a co-operation deal in process monitoring with J&M Analytik, located in Essingen, Germany.

J&M Analytik is a global manufacturer and service provider in the area of ultraviolet-visible and near-infrared spectroscopy. The company’s main activity is spectroscopy in the fields of forensics, materials science, pharmaceutical as well as laboratory and process analytics.

SKZ said J&M is intensifying its activities in the area of plastics processing by joining SKZ’s netork of partner companies.

“The cooperation between J&M and the SKZ is to spur the process monitoring technology in the plastics technology in particular by determining important quality parameters through spectroscopy with simple, robust and inexpensive sensors. The focus lies on injection moulding, extrusion and compounding,” said SKZ.
