Sika Advanced Resins' PFR-405 polyester filler paste is used for stringent requirements in the aerospace, aircraft and other industries.

Three years after taking over Axson Technologies, Sika is further integrating the SikaAxon business unit by renaming it Sika Advanced Resins.

The move, said Sika 5 Dec, is aimed at reflecting the synergies provided by the Sika group, which is a leading player in speciality chemicals for the construction and industrial sectors.

"This new identity strengthens Sika Advanced Resins' positioning in relation to its competitors, as it gives visibility to the activities of the entire Group,” explained Morten Muschak, Head of Sika Advanced Resins.

The business unit, according to Muschak, is “the number one” tooling company in Europe and is aiming to become a leader in the formulation of high-performance epoxy and polyurethane resins for tooling, composites and dielectrics.

Sika AG acquired French resin maker Axon Technologies in March 2015, and formed SikaAxon business unit.

The unit offers a comprehensive product range for the creation of models and moulds used for style trials, product testing and pre-production studies.

The main areas of application for Sika Advanced Resins’ products are automotive and shipbuilding, aerospace, renewable energies as well as the sports & leisure industry and the construction sector.
